Know Before You Go:
- Closed-toe shoes are required. Tour guests wearing open-toe shoes will be unable to participate in the facility tour.
- There is on-going construction on Hwy 150 (between Bardstown and Springfield) which may cause significant delays. Please plan accordingly and consider alternate routes.
- All tours are led by a guide and require walking.
- Tours are wheelchair accessible.
- We do not allow cameras inside the cooperage.
- We are located in the Eastern time zone.
- Guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Children ages 6 and under not allowed on the tour. No strollers.
- Tours begin at our Visitor Center across the street from Kentucky Cooperage.
- All tickets must be reserved and paid for online. No walk-ins will be accepted.

On this tour, you’ll see newly emptied used barrels that have been shipped immediately to our cooperage to preserve freshness. Watch as our coopers service these barrels into Grade A - Select barrels that are ready to age spirits, beer, wine and more.

A New & Used Barrel Cooperage ExperienceWhy choose one? This tour allows you to visit both Kentucky Cooperage and Kentucky Bourbon Barrel South, taking you through the life of a barrel- from individual oak staves to new, charred barrels, all the way to high quality, ready-for-filling used barrels.
